What is Amoxicillin and what it is used for: Each Amoxicillin tablet contains the active substance: 250 mg or 500 mg of amoxicillin (in the form of amoxicillin trihydrate) and excipients: magnesium stearate, talc, E122 diamond blue, carmoisin E122, orange yellow E110, titanium dioxide, iron oxide yellow, gelatin. This drug belongs to the group of semi-synthetic penicillins, broad-spectrum antimicrobial agents for systemic use. Suppresses the growth of microorganisms that cause infections.
Amoxicillin is used in the following cases: indicated for the treatment of infections caused by organisms sensitive to it.
Lower respiratory infections (acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, lobar pneumonia);
acute and chronic infections of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract (peritonitis, cholecystitis, intestinal infections);
acute and chronic urinary tract infections (pyelonephritis, urethritis, gonorrhea);
purulent soft tissue infections;
upper respiratory tract infection (tonsillitis, pharyngitis).
Do not take Amoxicillin in the following cases:
hypersensitivity to amoxicillin or excipients that make up this drug, other beta-lactam antibiotics;
infectious mononucleosis and leukemoid reactions of the lymphatic type.
